Cosmetic Tattoo Removal

Advanced laser and non-laser treatments to tone, lighten, or fully remove unwanted cosmetic tattoos. Personalised to your skin type, tattoo depth, and pigment colour.

The Process

How It Works

01

Consultation & Patch Test

A thorough assessment of your existing tattoo, skin type, and goals. We’ll evaluate pigment depth and placement, and perform a patch test to ensure your skin responds as planned. If suitable, we can proceed with your first treatment in the same appointment.

02

Personalised Plan

We recommend the most suitable method (laser, saline, toning, or a combination) and outline the expected number of sessions and timeline based on your unique tattoo and skin.

03

Treatment

The removal procedure is performed in a controlled clinical setting with professional skin cooling. Sessions typically take 20–45 minutes depending on the area and method.

04

Heal & Review

Detailed aftercare instructions are provided. LED light therapy is recommended to reduce inflammation, speed skin repair, and promote optimal healing.

Our Methods

Removal & Lightening Techniques

Q-Switch Laser Removal

Our advanced Q-Switch laser targets tattoo pigment beneath the skin, breaking it into tiny particles that the body naturally eliminates. You'll normally see significant changes straight away, with progressive fading after each session. A professional skin cooling system is used during treatment to counteract heat and significantly reduce discomfort.

Saline (Non-Laser) Removal

A gentle, non-laser technique using a targeted tattooing method to deposit high-concentration saline solution, which safely extracts excess pigment through the skin's natural healing process. Especially suited for soft hues, light pigments, or colour-corrected tattoos that laser may not effectively target.

Laser Toning to Lighten

A specialised treatment designed to lighten and correct the tone of dark and ashy eyebrow tattoos without removing them entirely. This gentle laser procedure targets residual black or grey pigment, softening overly dark or cool-toned brows for a more natural, refreshed appearance—with visibly instant results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most clients require 1–3 sessions for significant fading or complete removal. In some cases with more extreme pigment saturation, it can take up to 8 sessions. A realistic estimate will be provided at your consultation.

This depends on your tattoo’s colour, age, depth, and location. Saline is often preferred for soft hues, light pigments, or colour-corrected tattoos. Laser is effective for dark, saturated colours. Laser toning is ideal for lightening and correcting tone without full removal. We may recommend a combination approach.

Most clients describe laser removal as a quick snapping sensation, similar to a rubber band on the skin. We use a professional skin cooling system during Q-switch laser treatment to counteract heat and significantly reduce discomfort. Non-laser methods use topical anaesthetic.

Common side effects include short-term redness, swelling, and mild scabbing. Less common risks include temporary hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation (more common in deeper skin tones), blistering, or very rarely, scarring when aftercare instructions are not followed. All risks are assessed during consultation.

Cosmetic tattoo removal is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Hormonal changes can increase skin sensitivity, and there’s a potential risk that pigment particles may affect your baby. It’s best to wait until after this period.

Yes! Many clients choose to lighten brow or lip tattoos for correction or cover-up work. Laser toning is the recommended treatment—it tones down colour and corrects unwanted depth or ashy tones while preserving the overall shape and design.

Yes. Many clients choose to lighten brow or lip tattoos to allow for correction or cover-up work. Our treatments can tone down the colour without full removal, allowing you to update your look or reshape the design.

Q-Switch laser is highly effective for most cosmetic tattoo pigments, especially dark and saturated colours in brows and eyeliner. For lighter tones like peach or white, non-laser saline methods may be more effective.

You may not be eligible if you have active skin infections, are undergoing treatment for cancer, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are prone to keloid scarring, or have recently tanned skin. We’ll assess this during your consultation.
